AND THERE IS NO MAN IN THE LAND | Video Art 2016
The video work "and there is no man in the land" examines the composition of the painting and the formalist approach of the painting "Lot and his daughters" by the painter Simon Vouet, recreating on the canvas the "moment before" the incest. In the video, the nude models are sitting in front of the artist. They are not hidden behind objects or fabrics. There is a sense of discomfort felt by the very act of exposure, the touch, the reluctance of the eldest and youngest curiosity of looking at the act from the side. The visual study examines the body, the position of the hands and feet, touch, gaze at the moment of directing in front of the camera. Painting nude model is an ancient tool for artists. The human body is not examined as a sex object but as an artistic tool to tell a story. The moment chosen is stretched in time. The video artist uses his lens as a canvas. The viewer is invited to examine the process through the eyes of the creator.
